  • Mars Bars

I got a pack if 3 mars bars for free yesterday - i think it was yesterday! And I suddenly realised that they are quite nice. You know how you go through phases of eating things, well I liked Mars as a young child then decided they were too sweet and thick for my liking. Then the other night I was chomping my way through a big pack of Mars Planets and enjoying them more and more. Now I am an official fan.
One thing I wasn't too impressed with was the fact that when I went into a newsagent (for the first time in like 3 weeks) and they were selling jelly snakes (yes the long ones with yellow bellies!!) the man tried to charge me 35p for it! I remember when they are 15p!!
    Those were the days

    lol
And no I didn't buy it, that would ruin the principle, plus I'd propbably decide I didn't like them anymore. ha ha

  • Fighting

In the absence of my februar issue of Empire (silly mess up on their part and I am still waiting for it!! boo hoo i hopei get compensation!) I haven't really found out about many films on the horizon. However on a standard trip to IMDB.com to investigate the fit new intern from ER (Julian Morris, and yes he is English as I thought) I sat a very intruiging picture. Terrence Howard and Channing Tatum - now that is a film that would need to be seen, as said film is called Fighting.
Okay so by the title it seems like a bit of a high concept outing but from the trailer it has a lot of heart and of course with these two main men it will be engaging. So my list of 2009 films to watch gets ever longer, if only by one, and when my Empire arrives (any day now fingers crossed) the list will inevitably grow!
Here is the link to the trailer let me know what you think.

  • Nearly Famous

If you ever watched Nearly Famous - a series that came on E4 last year, don't you think we should make a petition for a second season, or at least a DVD release?
The reason for my sudden outcry is that I have just finished reliving it on 4OD and once again realise how incredible it was, is and should continue to be!! Even though so many of the characters are rather annoying thats what makes it like an actual college, and a good programme always needs someone to hate right? Plus it ended on such a cliff hanger! By the end - I don't want to give it away for all of you who are about to download and watch it (DO IT NOWWWWW) - you are really loving the main characters and rooting for them. It would be a shaame if there wasn't a continuation or commemoration of the event.

  • Tonight We Dine in CGI

In case you haven't seen 300, any poster section in any shop or was absent from cinema for the whole of 2006 - the title is a reference to Zack Snyders popular film 300.
Last night I finally got to see what everyone was raving about - and I do see why.
Forgetting the huge use of CGI for a moment, the acting was really good, especially Lena Headey as the Queen of Sparta and Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes. They were both great characters and really convincing. I'm not discounting Gerard Butler's career boosting performance as King Leonidas, because he was inspiring and seemed to fill the role as if it were his own story but when Xerxes first appeared the way he was presented was awe - inspriring and fitting for someone who considers themselves a God. Also compared to Leonidas he seemed to tower over him - Makes me wonder how tall Rodrigo is in real life.
The production made it a truly worthy representation of the epic battle that was, and the writing was spot on.
I would recommend it to most people - unless you have any problems seeing severed bodies, corruption, loinclothes or gratuitous beards.......

  • Roses are Red...

There is this great track that I just keep on hearing on the radio and in shops - can u believe - and its one of those great revival tracks from the old skool that need to be shared.
